When I put in an extra discount from a manufacturer (for one reason or another this happens from time to time).....for instance if the regular discount is 50% off and I put in 50/5/2 discount AQ360 sometimes changes it to say NET...is there some way to make my system just leave it alone the way I entered it?? It is frustrating because this discount is not standard so if I go back to this quote and want to verify that I had used the proper discount, I cannot tell....

Typically, having =Net= in the Discount Column means that either the Net Price was overridden in the spreadsheet, or that the item has special pricing from the MFR, either way the discount column is being ignored. It sounds like you would have a specific model number that you used for this example. Could you provide that number to me?
Permalink Reply by Jim Hanson on February 13, 2012 at 12:39pm No, I think you miss my point.
Take any item number and pull up the "standard" discount that our admin has put in there for that....ie: 50% ....now I want to show on this project on this particular item or by this particular manufacturer....ie: Vulcan 936 grill or even as I said, all of the Vulcan items for this project...and I want to take an extra 5% discount....what AQ should show is just how I enter it....50/5.....and it does until some undetermined point where AQ on it's own changes it to say "NET"....I don't want AQ to change what I entered....it is enough that it shows up in RED to show me that I am ignoring the Admin setting for that discount....
But the problem is that when I have 50 projects I look at in a week, I cannot remember what discount I used for this one or that one.....and so what happens now is I have to go back to each item and refigure out what I had done to enter it....

".....and it does until some undetermined point where AQ on it's own changes it to say =NET=".
That I have not been able to reproduce, as I stated earlier, once you see =Net= in the discount sell, the program is ignoring your discounts and is looking only at the Net price. Meaning that the net was changed manually.
The good news is that we have a project history option that will allow you to restore your project back to a previous save point, so there really should not be a point were AQ360 would change your discount to =NET=, without us being able to back track and find out when it happened. I think detrimining that would be helpful as to what exactly is happening to your spreadsheet.
If you can provide me with specific examples, I will check the project history myself and see if I can find where the change happened. What is the name of your project? Which Items were affected?
Permalink Reply by Jim Hanson on February 13, 2012 at 5:06pm restoring back to a previous point has problems of it's own....I may make a half a dozen changes today then next week come in and find that the discounts have been changed to say NET....and this is very common since I have been on AQ360 so it seems odd that you cannot duplicate the issue...
I'll tell you what. I will give you a project name where I can find it has done this so you can see...but it really happens all the time.

I received an update from our programmers on this issue, and it appears there is indeed an issue related to the rounding of fractional cents. We will dig into this a bit further today and see if we can find a solution that works best for everyone.
Permalink Reply by Chad Hales on February 14, 2012 at 8:35am Recently I had a completely unrelated issue, but I had noticed a discount that had changed to show "NET". I did notice that if you "Hover" the cursor over the Cell that currently reads "=NET=" it revealed what I believed was the discount as a Percent. I did not click or select the Cell to do this.
( I just tested this out on the project I remembered seeing it happen on.) You can get the "Multiplier" by doing this process if you first change the Discount Display settings to show "Multiplier". It will still show "=NET=" in the cell But when you hover over the cell it will then show the Multiplier not the percent. I was not able to have it show as a compound. Hope it helps you out.
